Chunks is a microlearning app that breaks complex topics like history, philosophy, literature, science, art, music, nature, and health into bite-sized chapters you can finish in minutes. Each chapter takes about 5–10 minutes to read or listen to.

Chunks is available as a free download on both the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android). Search for "Chunks Microlearning" or use the download links on this page.

Chunks is free to download with access to a selection of stories at no cost. To unlock the full library of over 200 stories, you can purchase a monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime access pass. All plans include new stories as they are published.

Chunks is available on iPhones running iOS 16 or later and Android devices running Android 8.0 or later. The app is optimized for both phones and tablets.

Chunks covers 8 subject areas: history, philosophy, literature, science, art, music, nature, and health. Topics range from the California Gold Rush and Greek mythology to the science behind everyday phenomena and the lives of influential thinkers.

Each story is broken into chapters that take about 5–10 minutes to read or listen to. Most users finish one or two chapters per sitting, making it easy to fit learning into a commute, lunch break, or a few spare minutes.

Yes. Every story in Chunks includes audio narration with synchronized text highlighting, so you can read along, listen, or do both. You can adjust the narration speed to suit your preference.

New stories are added weekly. Upcoming topics are often guided by user requests — if there’s something you’d like to learn about, email hello@chunks.app and we’ll consider adding it.

Most learning apps focus on quizzes, flashcards, or gamified drills. Chunks takes a narrative-driven approach — each topic is told as a story you can read or listen to, rather than a list of facts to memorize. The content focuses on humanities and general knowledge, and every story is editorially curated.

AI is used as a drafting tool to help structure initial versions of stories. However, every story goes through a multi-step editorial process: topic research, AI-assisted drafting, manual fact-checking against primary and secondary sources, and a final editorial review. On average, each story takes 2–4 hours of human work before publication.

Chunks offers three options: a monthly subscription, an annual subscription (with a discount compared to monthly), and a one-time lifetime access pass. All plans unlock the full library and include all future content.

Subscriptions are managed through your device’s app store. On iOS, go to Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Chunks. On Android, open the Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > Chunks. You can cancel anytime and retain access until the end of your billing period.

Refunds are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on where you purchased your subscription. Contact Apple Support or Google Play Support directly to request a refund.

Yes. Email hello@chunks.app and we’ll happily provide you with a discount. We believe education should be available to everyone, regardless of finances.

First, try restoring your purchase: open the app, go to Settings, and tap “Restore Purchases.” If that doesn’t work, make sure you’re signed into the same Apple ID or Google account you used to purchase. If the issue persists, email hello@chunks.app with your receipt details.

You can browse free content without an account. An account is only needed if you want to sync your reading progress across devices or manage a subscription.

You can request account deletion directly from the app under Settings > Delete Account, or by emailing hello@chunks.app. Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of the request.

Chunks collects minimal data: your email (if you create an account), reading progress, and basic usage analytics. We do not sell your personal information. Full details are available in our Privacy Policy.

Yes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored securely. We follow industry-standard security practices and comply with GDPR and CCPA/CPRA regulations. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Try these steps: (1) Close and reopen the app. (2) Check that your device is running a supported OS version (iOS 16+ or Android 8.0+). (3) Update to the latest version of Chunks from the App Store or Play Store. (4) Restart your device. If the problem persists, email hello@chunks.app with your device model and OS version.

Make sure your device is not in silent mode and the volume is turned up. Check that no other app is using audio in the background. If the issue continues, try closing and reopening the app, or reinstalling it.

New stories require an internet connection to download. Pull down on the main screen to refresh, or close and reopen the app. Make sure you’re running the latest version of Chunks.

Stories you’ve already opened are cached for offline reading. To ensure a story is available offline, simply open it while connected to the internet. New stories and updates require an internet connection to download.
