The Templar Knights

In 1119, a small group of knights gathered in Jerusalem, driven by faith and a mission to protect Christian pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land. The roads were dangerous, threatened by bandits and hostile forces. Led by Hugues de Payens, these knights formed the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon, soon known as the Templar Knights. Their base was established near the site of the ancient Temple of Solomon, a place loaded with spiritual significance. At first, their numbers were few and their resources limited, so they relied on donations from devout supporters. Yet, their dedication and courage quickly earned them respect. Word spread throughout Europe of these warrior monks who combined religious devotion with formidable martial skill. The Templars soon attracted noble recruits and financial backing, setting the foundation for a brotherhood that would grow in power and mystery.
